Motorola Inc, one of the world's leading telecom equipment and handset manufacturers, said it signed contracts worth $431M US with China Mobile in the 1st half of this year, compared to $394US M in the 1st half of 2007. In a statement on its web site, Motorola said the contracts are mainly related to upgrading of the GSM cellphone networks of China Mobile, the world's largest wireless communications operator. The president of Motorola China said Motorola expects to strengthen and deepen its cooperation with China Mobile after the restructuring of the country's telecom industry, which began earlier this year.
