Joe Shaker is the President and CEO of Shaker Recruitment Advertising & Communications, the second largest privately owned recruitment advertising agency in the country. A recruitment veteran for over 30 years, Mr. Shaker has helped the company evolve from a local newspaper rep firm into an international, multi-faceted agency that is annually recognized in the top 200 agency rankings. Under Mr. Shaker’s leadership, Shaker became the North American partner in Talentvillage, a global network of recruitment advertising agencies spearheaded by Publicis Groupe, a multi-billion dollar media enterprise.

Mr. Shaker is frequently sought after as a consultant for print and online media companies for his insights on how to evolve and effectively change. He has spoken extensively to key Human Resource decision-makers and is continuously cited in both print and online media – including Classified Intelligence, Reuters, Editor & Publisher, Crain’s Chicago Business, and Ad Age.

Mr. Shaker is involved in extensive philanthropic ventures, especially St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. He has served as President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of ALSAC, the fundraising arm of St. Jude. In addition, the Shaker Agency has a charitable foundation, the Shaker Foundation, which supports local and national, social, educational and humanitarian efforts. Mr. Shaker’s love of the industry led him to create the Recruitment Agency Association (RAA), the U.S. Trade Association for Recruitment Advertising Agencies, for which he currently serves as President. He is also an active member of many media associations, including SHRM, EMA, NAA, and SNA. Mr. Shaker holds a Bachelor’s degree from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
