Volvo Trucks North America

Volvo Trucks North America, a subsidiary of Volvo AB, is planning to lay off 1,100 employees from its southwest Virginia plant. The automaker is reducing production to one shift at the facility. The facility covers a 1.6-million-square-foot area and employs 2,900 workers.
