The University of Tennessee Health Science Center plans to cut as many as 200 jobs early next year, though university officials said the final number hasn't been decided. The job cuts will start soon, according to a letter from the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development that went to U.S. Rep. Steve Cohen, D-Memphis, and other officials. Details of the cuts weren't immediately available. UT said staff cuts are possible, but that nothing is final. To get ready, the university requested informational packets from the state agency to provide resources to people who may be affected, the executive vice president and chief of staff said in a statement.
