A plant that makes motors for paper and steel mills and the mining industry will shut down, eliminating about 130 jobs. The closure of Leeson Electric Motors Plant, a division of Beloit-based Regal Beloit Corp., is an economic punch in the gut for this city of about 3,000 people, the Mayor said. The chief financial officer for Regal Beloit, said the company had to close the Neillsville plant because its competitors already make lower-cost products in China, Brazil, Mexico and other countries.
