A West Side pharmaceutical-services company will close, a move that will eliminate 144 jobs. Pure Service is owned by Omnicare Inc., a Covington, Ky.-based company with annual revenue of more than $6 billion that provides pharmaceutical services to patients in 47 states. Pure Service, founded in Columbus by Curt Ayers, provides pharmaceutical services to long-term-care facilities, particularly those that provide care to senior citizens. The company began operation nearly three years ago. He declined to comment on the reason for the closing. Omnicare announced its plans to close the Columbus pharmacy operation in a filing with the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. Pure Service provides pharmaceutical services to 45 long-term-care facilities throughout Ohio, according to its web site.
