Pierre Foods Incorporated

An Ohio company is shuttering its Cedartown, Georgia, frozen food plant and laying off 153 employees. Cincinnati-based Pierre Foods Incorporated, which owns the Zartic plant, announced the closing recently as employees picked up their paychecks. Manufacturing of Zartic products will be moved to other Pierre Foods plants. Zartic produces frozen meats for food service and hospitality operators.
