OWENS CORNING: Owens Corning will lay off 136 people as part of a plan to shut down a production line at its Bethlehem insulation plant. Employees were told recently about the planned layoffs, which plant managers said were caused by a slowdown in the housing market. Owens Corning employs 360 people at the facility. The plant makes glass-fiber building insulation used in homes. Owens Corning is based in Toledo, Ohio.
