Citing the slumping economy, aerospace manufacturer The Nordam Group has laid off 61 members of its Tulsa work force. The chairman and chief executive of Tulsa-based Nordam said that like other aerospace companies, Nordam has been negatively affected by the global economic downturn. A majority of the cuts were in the repair division, with about 20 percent in the primary business jet market. Reductions have been made from top to bottom, from the vice president level to the shop floor, he said.
