NEW YORK CITY HOUSING AUTHORITY: The New York City Housing Authority has eliminated 73 management positions, a move that will save the agency $7.7 million a year as it contends with a $225 million budget shortfall. The authority, the largest public housing agency in North America, with more than 178,000 apartments and 13,000 employees, announced its decision recently. The jobs that were eliminated came from across the agency and at a variety of locations. 11/26
