The union representing AT&T Wisconsin workers in Milwaukee said recently that about 180 people are scheduled to lose their jobs by the end of the year. The president of Local 4603 of the Communications Workers of America said 118 of the job cuts will come from the closing of a network support center on N. 26th St. Walls said other reductions involve technicians who have been working on setting up AT&T's U-verse services, which include television and high-speed Internet. A spokesman for AT&T said that, for competitive reasons, the company does not comment on particular expansion plans or cutbacks. Nor does it provide local employment estimates.
