Weeks after announcing hundreds of layoff at the Kansas City plant, Harley-Davidson Officials say they may build a 2nd plant in the Northland. Company officials met with city leaders on the possibility of a 2nd plant in Kansas City, MO. This is according to our Kansas City Star. Kansas City is one of 4 finalist cities for the plant location. The plant would replace its largest plant in York, PA that now employs 2300 people. Just last month, Harley officials announced they have to lay off more than 400 employees at their current plant in the Northland. The new plant would be built right next to the current plant on land it already owns but is not currently using. The current plant produces the V-Rod, Sportster & Dyna models. The plant in PA now produces the Touring & Softail cycles.
