ICG Castings Inc.

Problems in the automotive industry have claimed another factory. ICG Castings Inc. apparently will be closing its Poplar Street plant in Dowagiac, one of two facilities there. Company officials have not returned calls to The Tribune. A staff representative for United Steelworkers of America in District 2, which services United Steelworkers Local 363, confirmed it has received a letter, notifying it that the plant is closing at 101 Poplar St. It is believed 77 people at the Dowagiac plant will lose their jobs along with additional employees at the Bridgman plant, according to him. The Bridgman plant's workers are not members of the union.
