Marietta Corp., best known for making small bottles of shampoo and other items for hotels, is laying off 130 workers at its upstate New York headquarters. The Plant manager says the employees losing their jobs range from senior management to front line workers. The privately held company says it isn't making enough money, so the workers were let go to improve competitiveness and ensure Marietta's long term prospects. All the employees will receive severance payments.
