More than 100 employees will be laid off at one of two Johnson Controls automotive parts plants in Georgetown as part of a restructuring early next year. The plants produce seats and seat components for customers that include the Toyota manufacturing plant. The plant that manufactures small and large foam-based parts will be moving manufacturing of its small products, mainly arm-rests and headrests, to a plant in Mexico. The move is expected to affect 108 of the 375 employees at the foam plant, with the changes being phased in beginning soon.
