About 100 workers at a General Motors Corp. parts plant in Parma have been indefinitely laid off, and hundreds more will be temporarily laid off, according to a company spokesman. After GM's traditional two-week holiday shutdown ends, about half the Parma Metals Center will remain shut down for the following three weeks, he said. Before the layoff, around 1,500 people were employed at the metal-working plant.
