GE Consumer & Industrial

GE Consumer & Industrial, the business division of GE that focuses on appliances and other consumer products, will cut 450 salaried positions in Louisville, Ky., in order to streamline operations and save money. Positions targeted include about 200 open jobs that won't be filled; an additional 140 positions will be eliminated through retirements and early retirement incentives; and about 110 workers will be laid off.
