About 100 jobs have been eliminated at a FedEx terminal in Hartford. The affected employees work for FedEx Freight's LTL division, a unit of FedEx Corp. The LTL division employs 143 workers. The LTL division, which stands for less than truckload, provides three-day or more hauling services for smaller loads that average about 1,000 pounds. All of the affected workers, who include drivers, clerks, mechanics and freight handlers, were notified of the company's decision recently. FedEx is moving the jobs to other locations. FedEx decided to eliminate the Hartford jobs as part of a move to improve customer satisfaction and increase the company's operational efficiency.
