An aircraft painting firm has laid off nearly half of its work force in Roswell just months after obtaining a long-term tax repayment plan from the state that was aimed at saving jobs. The Dean Baldwin Painting company, which is based in Bulverde, Texas, has been one of Roswell's largest employers. About 65 employees of the 155 employees at the plant have lost their jobs since layoffs began recently. Baldwin attributed the layoffs to high fuel costs that have impacted the airline industry nationwide.
