CWI OF IDAHO: Nearly 80 workers at the Idaho Cleanup Project have been laid off since late October, part of contractor CWI's continuing "skill mix adjustments." CWI is charged with tearing down buildings, removing old reactor vessels and doing reclamation work at Idaho National Laboratory. Like any construction job, people are going to be let go as tasks are completed, the company said. Everyone knew there would be layoffs. But they expected it to happen more gradually and not for the ax to fall as drastically as it did.
