The Conn-Selmer Inc. brass musical instrument manufacturing plant in Elkhorn will be closed, resulting in the loss of 70 jobs. Production at the 58,000-square-foot plant will be transferred to a facility in Eastlake, Ohio, Conn-Selmer and its parent company, Steinway Musical Instruments Inc. announced recently. The announcement comes six months after Elkhart, Ind.-based Conn-Selmer said it would close its woodwind manufacturing operations in Kenosha in 2008, eliminating 100 jobs.
