Eighty employees were laid off recently at CSC in Williamsburg, but the town's mayor is hopeful the positions might be reinstated next year. The location is part of CSC's Enforcement, Security and Intelligence division, which provides information technology services to government clients, particularly in national security and immigration services. A CSC Spokesperson confirmed the layoffs, but did not give detail on the circumstances that led to the job losses.

Nearly 300 Kentuckians will soon be out of work when two eastern Kentucky Cintas factories shut down. Cincinnati-based Cintas Corp. announced it will close its factories in Perry and Bath counties. The closures effective soon will eliminate 298 jobs but will give those workers severance pay and benefits for a limited time. WKYT reports the uniform company says the closures are part of an effort to consolidate its apparel manufacturing operations. The plant in Perry County makes uniform work shirt and the plant in Owingsville makes work pants.
