The home mortgage division of Citigroup Inc. is closing its operations in Des Moines, eliminating 190 positions, the company said. CitiMortgage, which mostly services wholesale mortgages, plans to close the site soon. The restructuring will affect 276 positions throughout the nation. CitiMortgage will offer 44 employees at its location at 699 Walnut St. the chance to work from home or transfer within the company. Earlier this year, Citigroup announced plans to reduce its residential mortgage assets in the United States by about $45 billion over the next year.
