Butterball LLC

Recently, Butterball LLC announced it will cut another 265 jobs at its Longmont plant, which will no longer raise or slaughter turkeys. This is the second round of job cuts was announced this summer by Butterball, which is based in Mt Olive, N.C. In June, the company announced it would cut 209 positions. The layoffs leave about 390 workers left to operate the plant as a "further processing plant," using turkey meat sent from elsewhere. The Butterball plant is the only livestock-processing industry in the Longmont area.
