Briggs & Stratton Corporation

Briggs & Stratton Corp. has notified state officials that it will lay off an additional 72 employees at its Port Washington plant as a result of the facility's closure. The new layoffs bring the total number of jobs eliminated in Port Washington to 151. The Wauwatosa-based small engine and outdoor equipment manufacturer informed the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development in mid-June that the plant's closure would result in the loss of 79 jobs.
