BAE Systems will lay off 230 workers at its Anniston facilities, company officials said recently. BAE Systems' Ground Systems Anniston, which refurbishes and upgrades military vehicles in Anniston, will eliminate jobs soon. The company, which has provided an employment base in the area since the 1960s, does everything in its power to maintain steady rates of employment and the company deeply regrets having to reduce its workforce.
