Armstrong Hardwood Flooring Co., a major Scott County employer, announced it will lay off 113 workers. Lower demand for products, because of the housing market slump and a sluggish economy, have forced the company to restructure its operations in Oneida, a company spokeswoman said. This means ending a third shift that the company had added about a year ago at its plant on Hartco Drive when demand was still high. Two day-shift operations at the plant will continue, but the night shift will be eliminated.
