Allegheny County Commissioners: Seventy-nine Allegheny County workers will lose their jobs through layoffs in a cost-cutting measure designed to save the county $10 million, a spokesman for county confirmed recently. It's the largest cut in the 5,483-person, county-funded work force since 2004.
