ADT Security Services announced that it will lay off 380 people at a call center in the Omaha area because the company is consolidating its call center operations. An ADT spokeswoman said the customer support operations in Papillion, Neb., will be handled by the company's service centers in Jacksonville, Fla.; Aurora, Colo.; Kansas City, Mo.; and Rochester, N.Y. He said ADT has not determined how many jobs might be added at the other call centers to handle the increased workload. He said the consolidation has been in the works for several years and is not related to the current economic turmoil.
