Mobile Access To LinkedIn Increases. Apps Being Built To Facilitate More Mobile Usage.

41% of LinkedIn visitors now access the site on mobile, up from 38% last October according to LinkedIn analysis.  The site anticipates that 50% of unique visits will be through mobile by the end of this year.

Part of LinkedIn’s mobile strategy is to rebuild its desktop property for mobile by adopting a “multi app strategy.” LinkedIn plans to unbundle its desktop service into multiple mobile apps so to be able to retain the level of simplicity required for an app to convert a download into an active user. LinkedIn wants their apps to follow the “five-second rule” for how long the user will be willing to spend to figure out how it works.

So, while LinkedIn’s desktop site has more than 2,100 distinct pages, LinkedIn will only have about 75 pages across its suite of mobile apps.
