Indeed Claims Mobile Traffic Has Doubled Since Last Year

It’s clear that mobile has mobilized the recruiting industry. You can’t take two steps without falling over an article about smartphone usage and the thousands of job seekers that are pushing pushing buttons on their phones to search and apply for jobs.

Now Indeed.com is showing us how one of the largest job boards has been affected by the big switch to mobile. On its latest blog, Indeed says that one-third of visits to the job board come directly from mobile devices. In addition, mobile traffic to Indeed has more than doubled since last year. Their job search app is also number one for iOS and Apple.

Indeed is ready for the rush to mobile. It has created and launched Indeed Apply, a free application that enables job seekers apply to jobs on desktop and mobile devices with a cover letter and an Indeed Resume, or a traditional resume file.

Since its launch, Indeed said the app has churned out over 23 million applications.

The takeaway? If you don’t have an career site that’s optimized for the mobile experience, it’s time to get one. Smartphone adoption has grown faster than any other consumer technology in history.
