Google Continues To Lead Search Engine Marketplace Per comScore

comScore, Inc. released its monthly analysis of the U.S. search marketplace.  Google Sites led the explicit core search market in February with 67.5% of search queries conducted, followed by Microsoft Sites with 18.4% (up 0.1 percentage points) and Yahoo Sites with 10.3%. Ask Network accounted for 2.4% of explicit core searches, followed by AOL, Inc. with 1.3%. “Explicit Core Search” excludes contextually driven searches that do not reflect specific user intent to interact with the search results.

17.7 billion explicit core searches were conducted in February, with Google Sites ranking first with 11.9 billion. Microsoft Sites ranked second with 3.3 billion searches, followed by Yahoo Sites with 1.8 billion, Ask Network with 431 million and AOL, Inc. with 235 million.

In February, 69.0% of searches carried organic search results from Google, while 27.0% of searches were powered by Bing.
