Facebook Still Dominates Social Networking Category With 15.7% Of Total U.S. Online Minutes
Time spent by U.S. desktop and mobile users on Facebook continues to climb, according to newly-released data from comScore. Domestic Facebook users spent upward of 123.2 billion minutes on Facebook during the month of May. That’s an increase of 31% year on year (94.2 billion in May of 2012.
So even with the rise of competing apps and sites over the past year, including Twitter, WhatsApp and Snapchat, Facebook still leads, at this point, in the social messaging category with 15.7% of total U.S. internet minutes compared with 2.3% for the three competitors.
