Eighty-nine Percent of Job Seekers Call Mobile Devices “An Important Tool”
Mobile is hot, hot, hot.
According to the findings of a new survey from recruiting service Glassdoor, 89 percent of employees who admitted they would look for a new job in the next year said their mobile devices are an important tool in their job searches.
Out of those active job seekers surveyed, 68 percent of job seekers are using their mobile devices to search for jobs once a week or more, while a whopping 30 percent are tapping into their phones more than once a day to find a job.
Searches on mobile phones aren’t just for the tech savvy. In fact, three out of five job seekers say they are already using their smartphones for job searches.
But they’re not just using their phones to search for jobs.
54 percent use their mobile devices to read company reviews from employees and 52 percent to research salary information.
That’s why it’s more important than ever to get your career site optimized for mobile. About 25 percent of job seekers are deterred from applying if the company career site doesn’t work on their phone.
Companies still have a long way to go before applying for jobs on mobile devices is a clean, simple task. Over 30 percent of job seekers say that the mobile jobs application process is difficult.
